A FC Copenhagen defender challenges Manchester United with a daring message
Man United has received a warning ahead of their Champions League match against FC Copenhagen on Wednesday night.
Kevin Diks, a defender for FC Copenhagen, thinks his team is the favorite to defeat Manchester United on Wednesday. Despite losing matches against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, United secured a vital 1-0 victory over Copenhagen at Old Trafford, placing them third in their Champions League group.
Two weeks prior, Harry Maguire had scored the game-winning goal against Copenhagen, and Andre Onana had also prevented a draw for the Danish champions with a dramatic penalty save in added time.
Wednesday night’s match between United and Copenhagen at Parken Stadium is another that the Reds absolutely must win. However, Diks, the defender for Copenhagen, stated during a pregame press conference that his team is the favorites to win.
Diks declared, “I would say we are [favorites].” “I’m not suggesting we always have an advantage over them. However, we have demonstrated our ability to oppose them. We’ll observe. Naturally, though, I think of us as favorites. It’s not based on chance.
“To get the outcome we want, we need to put in a little bit more effort. The Champions League matches are determined by minute details. It’s evident that many players step up in the big games, and you lose those matchups if you can’t win the last sprint.
“Thus, even though we performed almost flawlessly in Manchester, we still need to contribute to ensuring that it’s a goal and not one for us this time.”
In the Champions League group, Bayern Munich defeated Copenhagen 2-1 in Denmark, but only with a late goal.
Diks is wrong, according to the bookies, who have all rated United as the slight favorites to win.
