A former defender for Manchester United identifies the player who Erik ten Hag has considered a “huge loss.”

Man United have struggled on the injury front so far this season, losing several important players at various junctures.

Luke Shaw has been a “big loss” for Manchester United thus far this season, according to former center-back Mikael Silvestre, who also implies that they have truly suffered without him.

The left-back’s muscular issue has kept him out of action since August. At the time, United declared he would be out for “a number of weeks.”

On August 19, he made his Premier League debut for the Reds in their second match of the season, beginning the 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Due to his injury, United was forced to bring in Spurs defender Sergio Reguilon on loan as a left-back substitute in the closing hours of the summer transfer window.

Nevertheless, since joining the team, the Spaniard has been in and out due to illness and injuries. This has meant that multiple players in Erik ten Hag’s team have shared the left-back position.

Even though Diogo Dalot is a right-back by trade, he is playing left back right now. Victor Lindelof and Sofyan Amrabat have also filled in for Shaw.

The England international, who played in 47 games in all competitions, was a major contributor to United’s victory the previous year. He was essential to United’s style of play and helped Marcus Rashford and him form a successful left-sided connection.

According to Silvestre, “It can’t get any worse and I think there are players in situations that aren’t ideal,” as reported by bettingexpert.com. “The team is uneasy and there are injuries.

The inability of the first team players to play makes it challenging to play football. When things return to normal for the squad, things will get better. Though it’s a difficult time, they must remain united.

Luke Shaw is a huge loss for Erik because he was one of the team’s better players when he came and is now at the top of his game. Lindelof, Dalot, Amrabat, and Reguilon have all played there, therefore Shaw is a crucial piece of the puzzle.”
