After an U17 World Cup scouting trip, Man Utd’s new sporting director may be able to assist secure Erik ten Hag as the “next Messi.”

After his under-17 World Cup scouting trip, Dougie Freedman, Manchester United’s prospective new sporting director, may assist the team in signing “the next Lionel Messi.”

If Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s proposed agreement for a 25% share in the club goes through, the Red Devils intend to bring Freedman, who is now employed by Crystal Palace, to Old Trafford, according to The Sun.

Ratcliffe’s first action was to fire Chief Executive Richard Arnold, who was temporarily replaced by Patrick Stewart. Freedman, though, is expected to assume the part when Ratcliffe gets there.

Additionally, the Scotsman might be helpful in acquiring Claudio Echeverri, an intriguing Argentine prospect.

The 17-year-old phenom, who made his River Plate debut earlier this year, has been labeled “the new Messi.”

Due to his good play, he was called up to the U17 World Cup in Indonesia, where he scored his nation’s first goal against Japan.

Freedman may be important in negotiations should he decide to join United because he is supposedly at the competition to assist in scouting future stars.

Echeverri discussed being compared to Messi and stated, according to Sportskeeda, “I always said that Messi was my idol, but I’m nowhere near Messi!” Pablo Aimar, a member of the national team staff, is also someone I truly liked and have spoken with on numerous occasions.

“He’s a wonderful guy, and he helps me improve my game by giving me helpful advice. Then, I would probably pick “Pablito,” as he was a gifted player who enjoyed facing off against defenders like me.
