After declining multiple clubs, David de Gea modifies his position over his return to the Premier League.

David de Gea, the goalkeeper that left Manchester United in the summer, is still free to sign with other teams, but Newcastle may make an offer for him to return to the Premier League.

If Newcastle approaches former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in the upcoming weeks, he would think about rejoining the Premier League.

The 33-year-old Spaniard was anticipated to sign a new deal with United before declaring in July that he would instead be leaving the team as a free agent. After spending a decade and a half at Old Trafford, De Gea has been connected to several teams in the intervening period, but he remains single ahead of the winter transfer window.

Recently, De Gea was connected to a return to United. United may miss up to seven games during the Africa Cup of Nations in January without their first-choice goalie, Andre Onana. However, it appears that De Gea may be the objective by a domestic rivals

Nick Pope dislocated his shoulder versus United over the weekend, and Newcastle has been devastated to learn that he may miss most of the season. De Gea is reportedly being considered for a move, and according to The Mail, he would be amenable to it.

According to the article, De Gea has declined offers from other clubs in recent months, but he is currently “more receptive” than he was in the past. For the second half of the season, Newcastle might extend an offer to him.

Martin Dubravka, who was on loan at United for a portion of the previous season, is an intriguing choice to replace Pope. However, De Gea is a bit of a coup for the Magpies and has a ton of Premier League experience.

David de Gea, the goalkeeper from Manchester United, has surfaced as a potential transfer target for Newcastle.

De Gea’s recent series of mysterious social media statements have fueled rumors that he would be amenable to rejoining his old club. He has also returned to the city to see old comrades.

There have been rumors that De Gea may make a comeback to Old Trafford during a period when Onana, his replacement, has had a difficult time winning over supporters following a disastrous start to his Manchester United career.

The disastrous 3-3 draw against Galatasaray last week featured two goals from the former Inter Milan goalkeeper, who has since committed additional high-profile errors in Premier League and European matches.

In the summer, United rotated their goalkeeping staff. In addition to moving on from De Gea, they also signed Fenerbahce’s No. 2 Altay Bayindir and sold Dean Henderson.
