After the Manchester United player satisfies his demand, Erik ten Hag changes his opinion about Scott McTominay.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, appeared to be willing to let go of Scott McTominay during the summer, but the midfield player has now pushed his way back into the Dutchman’s plans.

Although Scott McTominay’s time at Manchester United appeared to be over in the summer, the midfield player has shown to be invaluable to Erik ten Hag in recent weeks.

During the transfer window, West Ham showed interest in signing the Scotland international, and their £30 million offer was rejected. However, McTominay finished the 2022–2023 season as a bit part of Ten Hag’s team, and it is believed that United was willing to let him go in the off-season.

After stepping up with a flurry of vital goals for both club and country in just three months, McTominay is unlikely to be available in January.

McTominay has always had a more significant position for Scotland, but after scoring seven goals in eight Euro 2024 qualifiers in a more advanced role, he has elevated his game to the next level and motivated his country to qualify for the European championships next summer.

Additionally, the United academy alumnus has maintained that form in the Premier League. Following his two goals in three minutes to finish a late comeback against Brentford last month, which greatly relieved pressure on the Old Trafford boss, McTominay forced himself into Ten Hag’s plans.

Since that game, McTominay has started all but one of United’s six games, and Ten Hag now views him as a key player and isn’t open to the notion of selling him in January.

Scott McTominay, who attracted offers during the summer transfer window, has forced his way into Erik ten Hag’s plans.

Ten Hag’s change in attitude comes after McTominay disclosed at a supporter Q&A session in December of last year that Ten Hag had pushed him to enhance other aspects of his game in addition to his goal-scoring performance.

McTominay said, “I should score more goals,” at the function. “The manager has really talked to me about it and given me small video clips that demonstrate how I can improve my performance in the game by setting up goals and providing assists.
