Ben Foster labels Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana ‘bang out of order’

Andre Onana joined Manchester United from Inter Milan after David de Gea left the club as a free agent.
Ben Foster believes Andre Onana was ‘bang out of order’ to react angrily at Harry Maguire during last week’s pre-season friendly against Borussia Dortmund.
Summer signing Onana raced out of his box during United’s 3-2 loss at the Allegiant Stadium, lamenting Maguire for his reaction to United losing possession in a dangerous area.
Speaking after the game, Onana justified his anger by explaining how he holds high standards for everyone in front of him. “He’s big, he’s good with the ball so I will demand him a lot. He’s a great guy, I have a good relationship with him,” the 27-year-old said.
Former United goalkeeper Foster, however, believes any professional player would consider it ‘out of order’ during a friendly.
“I saw that thing with Maguire and I didn’t like it one bit,” he told the United Stand. “I don’t think it’s necessary. I get it, you’re annoyed but it’s a pre-season friendly. You don’t need to go shouting and raving.
“I guarantee you, every player in any dressing room up and down the country will have seen that and gone ‘nah that’s bang out of order.’
Onana is one of three major arrivals to come through the door at United, with Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund also joining from Chelsea and Atalanta respectively. Erik ten Hag’s summer spend has now risen above £160million, but significant investment among Premier League rivals will make this season tougher than ever.
The Dutchman led United to a third-placed finish and the Carabao Cup in his debut campaign, but Foster is struggling to see any improvement on that.
“I think it’s going to be really tough,” he added. “I think fourth, I think they are going to nick fourth. That’s a good season you know, I’m not joking. I’ll go for a top four finish. If they got Harry Kane they would finish second.”
