The brother of Manchester United player Marcus Rashford, Dane Rashford, was reportedly detained in the US and told to appear in court on an allegation of domestic abuse.

According to The Telegraph, Dane Rashford was taken into custody on October 20 in Miami Beach, Florida. Police records state that when he first appeared in court the next day, the bond for his release before to his pre-trial hearing was set at $1,500 [£1,224].

“On October 24, his charge of battery, which is also known as domestic violence, was filed.”

“Dane was featured in official police arrest photos and was granted a pre-trial “stay away order” by a Florida court, which purportedly forbade any communication.”

Dane works at DN May Sports Management as a director.

The organization that handles Rashford’s business, including negotiations for a contract with United, is a client.

According to Sam Wallace, Dane and Dwaine Maynard, Rashford’s other brother and a licensed FA intermediary, were both listed on the official FA paperwork for the United star’s previous two Red Devils contracts.

It is understood that Chantelle Maynard paid the bond amount a week following the arrest.

Dane is free from prison now. To the charge, he entered a not guilty plea. This month, on the 27th, there will be a hearing.

The Telegraph also reports that when contacted for comment on the situation, neither United nor the Rashford camp would say anything.

Assistant state prosecutor Daysi Vega-Mendez for Miami Dade County told the newspaper, “I haven’t been able to get hold of the victim at this time, but the case is still active.” We need authorization to talk with the victim, so our staff is attempting to contact the UK Embassy.

“I don’t know if they have left the country or if they are still in the United States. I know they were taking a vacation. In theory, you are not allowed to leave the nation after being charged. When someone is given a bond, they give it up the moment they depart.

The case is still pending as of right now, and an arraignment hearing is scheduled for November 27.
