Chelsea announced new signing

Chelsea Women have officially announced their fifth signing of the summer as they have picked up Johanna Rytting Kaneryd on a free transfer from BK Hacken. The winger has inked a deal for three years, with an option to extend for a fourth. As mentioned previously, the Swedish winger is the fifth recruit of the season.

Blues boss Emma Hayes has already seen four new faces added to her squad, with Kaneryd following Kadeisha Buchanan, Eve Perisset, Katerina Svitkova and Lucy Watson in making a move to the WSL champions.

The 25-year-old Sweden international has put pen to paper on a three-year contract which also includes the option for a fourth.

“I’m delighted to join this amazing club!” said Kaneryd, who has been handed the number 19 shirt. “I can’t wait to meet my new team-mates and staff and start working on our goals for the season!”

Hayes added: “We’ve been watching Johanna develop over the last 12-18 months and she has had an unbelievable season last year in Sweden.

“She’s extremely quick, direct, a great age and she’s the profile player we’ve been looking for. Johanna will bring another dynamic to the team and we are really looking forward to her career with us at Chelsea.”
