David De Gea officially sends Man United transfer demands as Manchester United makes new transfer Decision

Using social media platform X, formerly Twitter, De Gea sent a simple ‘thinking face’ emoji that caused controversy among the United supporters who responded.

In response to a rumour that Manchester United would try to extend an offer to David de Gea for a short-term contract, the custodian tweeted.

According to sources, United was ‘arranging a humiliating U-turn by begging the fired keeper De Gea to come back on a temporary basis.’

It was reported that Erik ten Hag’s team was concerned about not having a suitable backup ‘keeper when Andre Onana leaves for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

With Cameroon’s qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations, there is still some doubt as to whether Onana will miss as many as nine games in the early part of next year. Nevertheless, the goalie is free to decide whether or not he wishes to play for his nation at this esteemed tournament.

The idea that United would give De Gea another opportunity at the team following his highly publicised departure during the summer was first rejected by club sources.
