Sterling has completed his medical and signed his Chelsea contract, according to reports. A deal could even be announced as soon as today. It is believed that the Blues will pay £47.5 million rising to £50m in add-ons to secure the services of the England international. Meanwhile the Blues could also be close to tying up a deal for Kalidou Koulibaly worth around £33m.

Manchester City have hit an obstacle in their hunt for a replacement for Chelsea target Nathan Ake. Chelsea want to bolster their defence with the £45million acquisition of Ake and the Dutchman is open to moving back to his former club. But City want to land a replacement first and have identified RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol as their No 1 target.

Luis Suarez says he has received several contract offers from MLS teams. The striker is a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of last season and is looking for a new club. However, he is keeping his options open before making a decision on his next move.

The United States has long been regarded as a possible destination for the Uruguay international and he said he wants to join a team that will leave him in a good position to make the squad for the 2022 World Cup.

The 35-year-old has spent most of his professional career in Europe with Liverpool and Atletico Madrid but could be destined for a move away from the continent.
