Manchester United

Erik ten Hag describes the £85,000-a-week player as Man United’s standout in the Champions League this year, calling him “very good and the best.”

Manager Erik ten Hag finds some silver lining despite Manchester United’s sad Champions League loss, referring in particular to the remarkable efforts of Rasmus Hojlund.

Despite expectations that they would advance from what appeared to be a doable group, United placed last and was not able to qualify for any European competition this year.

Nonetheless, Ten Hag opts to highlight the team’s Champions League run’s positive aspects, highlighting Rasmus Hojlund’s significant efforts.

The Danish striker scored five goals during the competition, putting on an outstanding display.

Ten Hag summarized the team’s overall performance by saying, “We had some good attacking football performances in the Champions League, but ultimately we don’t have enough points to qualify.”

We must acknowledge it and draw lessons from it.

We’ve played some excellent football in the Champions League; Rasmus Hojlund, for instance, scored five goals, which is an excellent showing. He needs to carry that confidence into the Premier League. That, in my opinion, applies to the entire squad.

Acquiring Hojlund for £72 million from Atalanta in the summer, Manchester United is aware of the Danish striker’s enormous potential.

Though he has five goals in six Champions League games, it is now more important to translate that success into Premier League games.

With no direct goal contributions in 12 league games, Hojlund must find a way to end his goal drought. The match against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday offers him a great opportunity to do so.
