Fernandes – 7, Shaw – 3: rating Man United players in Bournemouth humiliation

Bruno Fernandes – 7

At least the Man United captain tried. Drove his team forward with his incisive passes and actually created six goal-scoring chances, only for his teammates to miss all of them.

Harry Maguire – 7

The Englishman was probably the only respectable Man United defender from the game. Made a few crucial tackles to stop Bournemouth from scoring more and looked proactive at the back. Nearly undid all his work by making a horrible mistake in added time, but that goal was ruled out.

Sofyan Amrabat – 5

Amrabat got overrun by the Bournemouth midfielders and was often caught chasing behind them awkwardly. Couldn’t react sharply enough to stop the cross for the first and was sloppy with his passes.

Scott McTominay – 4

The Scotsman was unable to replicate his heroics from the Chelsea game and was almost invisible this time around. Made very little difference in the final third and posed no scoring threat at all.

Anthony Martial – 3

Martial was lucky to get a start and proved why fans were right to be fuming with him starting. Even though he did create a chance, his overall demeanour was frustrating as he failed to get into promising situations and have any scoring threat.

Alejandro Garnacho – 3

Garnacho had a really frustrating outing. He got past his man on the left, but his final product was awful. Wasted a lot of chances with his poor decision-making and never came close to getting a goal contribution.

Luke Shaw – 3

Shaw’s vulnerabilities as a centre-back were laid bare by Bournemouth. He struggled to track the movement of Solanke and gave the ball away in bad positions. Totally ousted by Billing for his goal too.

Onana – 5, Dalot – 5, Reguilon – 5.5, Antony – 6.5

Hojlund – 5, Rashford – 6, Pellistri – 6.5, Evans – 6
