Good News: Dolphins hires fantastic defensive backs coach

Brian Duker leaves Lions for Dolphins.

A former defensive assistant of the Detroit Lions has joined the Miami Dolphins as their coordinator of the pass game and secondary coach.

After three seasons at Motown, Brian Duker is leaving to take up a new opportunity for the AFC South’s dominant team, according to NFL Network.

Duker assisted Aaron Glenn as the defensive backs coach for the Lions in 2023.

Duker originally worked with the safeties, before being assigned to take on a larger role working with the defensive backs as the 2022 season progressed.

Townsend, 48, served as the defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars the past two seasons.

The veteran defensive coach has also had stints with the Chicago Bears (2019-21), New York Giants (2018), Tennessee Titans (2016-17), and Arizona Cardinals (2011-12).
