I will never see Him play for Manchester United. Bernardo Silva says he will stop at nothing to prevent the £60 million teammate player from joining Man United in January

He will never play for Manchester United in my opinion. Man City’s finest player, Bernardo Silva, has declared that he will do all in his power to keep the £60 million Portuguese midfielder from joining Manchester United in January.

Neves, 19, is playing for the Portuguese powerhouses and is enjoying a breakthrough season. After Enzo Fernandez transferred to Chelsea for £105 million in January, he joined Roger Schmidt’s midfield and has since shown to be an essential member of the squad.

The teenager has been watched by United on several occasions; most recently, he scored an injury-time equalizer in the derby victory against Sporting Lisbon before the international break.

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of United, is said to have approved the transaction last week, which convinced the Premier League’s bigwigs of Neves’ potential.

The City player Silva, however, has other ideas. He says he will try his best to persuade Neves to move to the blue half of Manchester along with Ruben Dias.
“I am thrilled for João and the other young players who are playing for Benfica and the national team,” Silva declared during a gala event in Lisbon.

In the Premier League, Joao Neves? Players of quality, in my opinion, can compete in any championship. I see him as a very young player with a bright future ahead of him, totally focused on his club, which is currently the most important thing.

He arrived at the national team, settled in and integrated very well. He’s another one to help, if the coach thinks so, to help us help win the European Championship.

‘For City instead of United? If I can, I will pull strings to Joao Neves to go to Man City. I’d like to see João joining City instead of Man United, of course.’

United star Fernandes began the charm offensive last week, admitting he would love the opportunity to play alongside Neves at Old Trafford.

‘It has to be the Man United coach who says whether he has a place or not,’ Fernandes said.

He’s a great player, I don’t know if he would have a place or not. It depends on the coach and his ideas.

‘But he’s an excellent player and an excellent kid, very professional, he will have a bright future wherever he goes.

‘I would love to have him by my side. Because he has quality and will have a bright future. It depends on him. What I want most is the best for him’.
