If Zinedine Zidane takes over at Manchester United, he may sign a Real Madrid player to take Jadon Sancho’s place.

If Zinedine Zidane succeeds Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, he might import a Real Madrid player to replace Jadon Sancho.

Due to a string of subpar performances, Zidane has been set as the front-runner to succeed Ten Hag as captain, should he decide to step down.

Sancho, on the other hand, is anticipated to depart in January after being essentially shut out as a result of a public argument with his manager.

United has only won once in their last four games, placing them bottom of their Champions League group. They were ahead 2-0 until Marcus Rashford was given a straight red card, and on Wednesday they were stunned 4-3 away to Danish powerhouse Copenhagen.

After concluding his second stint at Real in 2021, Zidane has not held a managerial position. As a player or manager, his hiring at United would mark his first exposure to the Premier League.

Raphael Varane is one player who stands to gain from the arrival of the Frenchman. The great midfielder was instrumental in convincing Varane to sign a new contract with Real Madrid in 2019 after he was approached by the Spanish team twice.

From both of his time in command, Zidane still has a large number of supporters at the Bernabeu.

Among them is the attacker Rodrygo, whom the Frenchman commended for scoring his first professional hat-trick against Galatasaray in a Champions League match in 2019.

“We are happy for him because in the end, when he gets the chance to play, he plays well, and he did so again tonight,” he stated, quoting the Daily Mail.

“He is a good player in every way. Although we are fully aware of his attacking abilities, he also puts in a lot of effort and assistance in defense.”

Earlier in the season, Rodrygo was strongly associated with Liverpool. According to Spanish publication Fichajes, Real Madrid was prepared to let go of Rodrygo for €100 million, should a club made a bid of that amount.

Earlier this month, the Brazilian agreed to a new deal with Real Madrid that will keep him at the Bernabeu through 2028.

Crucially, he has a fresh release clause worth an incredible €1 billion. However, a reunion with Zidane might persuade Rodrygo to consider a move to Old Trafford if a substantial offer is made, particularly if Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti leaves the team next summer.
