Jim Ratcliffe will invest more money in the Man United takeover than Sheikh Jassim did.
Even though he has only acquired a 25% share in Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to provide more money to the team than Sheikh Jassim.
Ratcliffe will assume a minority role in the takeover, which is anticipated to be revealed early next week, although he will have significant control over the club’s athletic department.
Ratcliffe’s business, INEOS, will work with Joel Glazer to establish a committee that will be in charge of the team’s sports strategy.
According to The Sun UK, Ratcliffe intends to use his personal wealth to invest £245 million this year, with a total estimated investment of £1.6 billion to support the academy, both first teams, and facilities like Carrington training field.
The primary challenger in the bidding process, Sheikh Jassim, had put up a £1.4 billion investment, but he withdrew because of fee disputes with the Glazers and their demand for a 100% ownership.
With an emphasis on financial management and the potential appointment of a new sporting director—Paul Mitchell is reportedly among the front-runners—Ratcliffe hopes to complete the takeover by January.
