Man United is ahead in the race to sign Real Madrid for £54 million.
Real Madrid needs additional options in a number of different places on the field. The center back is one of them.
After tearing his ACL in the opening game of the season, Eder Militao will be sidelined for some time. In the middle of defense, it leaves them with David Alaba, Nacho, and Antonio Rudiger.
To be honest, Carlo Ancelotti’s team has significantly strengthened their defense this year. Through the first 13 league games thus far, they have only given up 9 goals.
It is also necessary to keep an eye on the future. Alaba, Nacho, and Rudiger are all older than thirty. However, it is still unclear whether Militao’s ACL injury would have any lasting consequences on him as a player.
Therefore, Real Madrid needs a backup center back. However, it appears like Manchester United is in the lead for one of their primary targets for that role.
Manchester United is ahead in the race to sign Real Madrid for £54 million.
Real Madrid is trailing Manchester United in the competition for Goncalo Inacio, according to Diario AS (via Manchester World). It is estimated that his release clause is worth approximately £54 million.
At the moment, Inacio represents Sporting Lisbon. He made his debut for Portugal earlier this year, and he is also a member of the national team setup.
At just 22 years old, Inacio is regarded as one of the world’s best young center backs. He would, of course, meet many of the requirements Real Madrid has these days when signing players.
However, it appears that there is fierce competition for Inacio’s signature. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid can outbid teams like Manchester United in the summer window and complete a deal for the center-back from Portugal.
