Man Utd is about to sign a £40 million star in an unexpected trade – Source

Manchester United has only scored 16 goals in the Premier League thus far, and Marcus Rashford, their leading scorer from the previous campaign, has been in terrible form.

The England international, who scored 30 goals in all competitions the previous season, extended his tenure at Old Trafford with a lucrative new contract that he inked in the summer.

But United’s downfall this season has been mostly due to his bad play. According to sources, Man Utd wants to offload the Three Lions player and bring in Raphinha, a star from Brazil, in such a scenario.

Todo Fichajes (via Football Transfers) claims that Man Utd is ready to sign Raphinha in a surprise trade for Rashford; both players are 26.

Although Barcelona has been pursuing Rashford for some time, the plan is not yet at a very advanced point.

The South American scored 14 goals directly to help Barca win La Liga the previous season while starting for the team on a regular basis.

Raphinha has mostly warmed the bench throughout the current campaign and must go out and play every week.

While Rashford has started 13 Premier League games this season and has scored two goals and assisted two others, the Samba sensation has started just four league games under Xavi despite having the identical stats.

Raphinha, who is reportedly valued at over £40 million, has been made available by the Nou Camp organization.

Before relocating to Spain, the Selecao forward established himself with Leeds United in the Premier League. Do you believe Man Utd should sign Raphinha instead of Rashford, who is currently out of form?
