Man Utd is in “advanced talks” to sign the highly talented young player who is on the rise.

According to reports, Manchester United and highly-regarded teenage player Ethan Wheatley are deep in talks about Wheatley signing his first professional deal.

Considering some of the players that have developed at Old Trafford over the years, the Red Devils have long been known as a team not afraid to blood young talent.

And young forward Wheatley is among the latest bright spots to demonstrate his abilities.

An update on Wheatley’s future has been given by Manchester World, which states that he and United are in “advanced talks” for Wheatley to sign his first professional contract.

The article also states that Wheatley is considered by United to be one of their “brightest” prospects currently on the books. The attacker has previously received caps for England U17.

This season, Wheatley, 17, has stepped up to play for the U-21s after competing for the Under-18 team the previous year.

Old Trafford officials are looking to lock down his immediate future since his performances have made rival teams curious.

Regarding the athlete himself, rumors have it that Wheatley is content at the team and has no plans to leave.

In light of this, negotiations for that first professional contract are doing well, albeit no significant progress is anticipated before Christmas.

Set for United deals are Wheatley and Forson.

Manchester World also notes that Omari Forson, a winger who played for United in the preseason, is expected to sign a new contract.

At Old Trafford, securing outstanding young talent is undoubtedly a strength. This stands in contrast to some of the high-profile additions to the senior team made after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

In fact, it’s believed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the prospective new owner of United, is getting ready for a drastic shake-up of the senior team, with at least ten players expected to go between January and July.

Assuming Ratcliffe maintains control after obtaining his 25% stake, Erik ten Hag may have to deal with a significant downturn.

On Sunday, United will return to Premier League action when they travel to Everton.
