Man Utd is working hard to sign a “impressive” player for £61 million.

According to claims circulating in the Portuguese media, Manchester United is exerting significant pressure to recruit Joao Neves from Benfica.

The young player has been targeted by the Red Devils for a while, and according to Record, they are tightening their hold to get him to sign.

According to the well-known media source, Manchester City is also considering signing the 19-year-old midfield player, who has already made 36 professional appearances for the Eagles.

Jose Boto, a scout for Benfica for over ten years, believes that Neves is prepared to compete at the best level. Boto praised the midfield player, saying:

“At his age, he combines talent with above-average maturity and impressive dynamism in midfield, which he demonstrates with every performance.”

He demonstrates that he has enormous room for improvement and is prepared to compete at the greatest level. He is a great player with few discernible flaws.

There is a 120 million euro release clause in the young sensation’s present contract, but rumors suggest that he could be enticed for as little as £61 million (70 million euros).

He earned his senior international debut last month, so it won’t be shocking to see him in the European Championships the following year.

The young player is mainly used as a defensive midfielder, but he can also play deep and effectively break plays as well.

Neves played in 17 games as Benfica won the Liga Nos championship the previous year. In his seven league starts this season, he has contributed to the team’s five clean sheets.

Do you think Manchester United should spend big money to sign Joao Neves in January?
