Man Utd’s match against Liverpool will be simpler without Bruno Fernandes, according to the new captain

Due to Bruno Fernandes’ ban for Sunday’s match at Anfield, Erik ten Hag will have less selection headaches than normal when Manchester United takes on Liverpool.

Danny Murphy, a former Red, thinks that without Fernandes sidelined, United’s matchup with Liverpool on Sunday would be less difficult.

Murphy says that Ten Hag might be able to pitch a stronger midfield in spite of worries expressed by United supporters about playing without their captain.

Surprisingly, Murphy suggests that Marcus Rashford take over as captain in Fernandes’ absence.

Murphy contends that Ten Hag, who is being evaluated for his position at Old Trafford, should give priority to bringing the gifted England forward back into the starting lineup despite Rashford’s struggles with recent illness and bad play.

Murphy commented on Fernandes’ suspension in the Daily Mail, saying, “The manager’s game-plan is made easier by the United captain’s suspension.”

With Sofyan Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo, and Scott McTominay in the middle of the field with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony providing speed on the wings for counterattacks, he continued, “United can be more solid without him.”

Murphy declared, “If I’m Ten Hag fighting for my job, I am putting Rashford straight back in the team after illness—with the armband,” underscoring the significance of Rashford’s presence.

The role of a manager is to get his top players on the field. You should take a chance, give Rashford more responsibilities, and watch how he performs because he is one of them.

The last league victory for Manchester United at Anfield dates back to January 2016. The team has had recent struggles there.

Ten Hag is fully aware that a repeat performance could endanger his position as the Red Devils’ manager, since he still harbors memories of the embarrassing 7-0 loss from the previous season.
