Manchester United learns a terrible injury update regarding Casemiro.

Erik ten Hag has disclosed that Casemiro will be sidelined with a hamstring injury until beyond Christmas, meaning the midfielder will miss a significant portion of Manchester United’s season.

The 31-year-old midfielder’s second season at Old Trafford after his dramatic move from Real Madrid has been marred by form and physical issues.

After suffering an ankle injury while playing for Brazil last month, Casemiro made a comeback against Newcastle on Wednesday, but he was substituted off the field at the half of the team’s 3-0 Carabao Cup loss. The Brazil international’s hamstring injury was confirmed by United to keep him out for “several weeks,” but Ten Hag has since hinted that the midfielder might not be able to play this year.

Center-backs Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw might make a comeback in the upcoming weeks, while Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro will miss the ten games leading up to Christmas due to foot injuries.

“Yes, I do have some time schedules,” Ten Hag remarked. “But there can always be setbacks during the rehab period, so it’s hard to project that.”I always seem to hold back on these kinds of things. While I anticipate some returning, I don’t think Casemiro and Martinez will be back before Christmas due to their serious injuries.

Casemiro is projected to miss ten games before Christmas, including Wednesday’s crucial Champions League group match against Copenhagen.

The 31-year-old was suspended for the rematch two weeks prior, at Old Trafford, where Harry Maguire’s header and Andre Onana’s stoppage-time penalty save sealed a 1-0 victory.

The latter has just had a comeback, but Headway, a brain injury charity, questioned the choice to let him play again following a head injury sustained during Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Fulham.
