Manchester United Manager Picks His Captain and Gives Update On Ronaldo Future

The manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag has confirmed the player that will lead the team from the dugout next season.

The Dutchman who was speaking in an interview confirmed that he will continue with Harry Maguire as the club’s captain going into next season. The English man has been under a lot of criticism from supporters of the Red Devils since last season but Ten Hag has insisted that he would not pick a new captain.

New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said Monday that Cristiano Ronaldo was “not for sale”, despite the Portuguese superstar skipping the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. Ronaldo missed the start of training with the English Premier League giants last week due to a family issue.

Erik ten Hag says Cristiano Ronaldo is in his Manchester United plans for the season ahead. United are willing to listen to offers for Ronaldo this summer, Sky Sports News understands, but the club’s public stance has remained that he is not for sale.

The team missed out on a Champions League spot last season and Ronaldo who is the highest scoring player in the competition’s history does not fancy a season out of Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
