Manchester United sustains new injuries to Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez.

Due to serious injuries, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have been out of action for Man United for a lengthy time.

Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez of Manchester United may be out for the rest of the season.

Casemiro hurt his hamstring last week against Newcastle United, and Martinez needed more surgery to fix the metatarsal fracture he suffered against Sevilla in April.

Manager Erik ten Hag of United stated that Casemiro would not be back before Christmas, and the Brazilian would be out for “several weeks” of the injury.

“I have some time schedules, yeah, but it’s always difficult to predict that because they can get setbacks during the rehab period so I’m always holding back a little bit on some issues,” Ten Hag stated.

“I expect some back but Casemiro and Martinez are pretty strong injuries and I don’t expect them back before Christmas. There are a few weeks.”

The only games United plays after Christmas are on Boxing Day at home against Aston Villa and on December 30 away at Nottingham Forest.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, both left backs, are anticipated to return to the United team following the November internationals. Malacia underwent knee surgery during the summer, and Shaw’s hamstring strain has kept him out of action since August 19.

Ten Hag declared that Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire would be available and fully fit for United’s Champions League group stage match against Copenhagen on Wednesday night.

In addition to suffering a hand injury in Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Fulham, Maguire needed a concussion checkup, and Rashford failed a fitness test the day before the match.

“We did all the protocols during the game, after the game, so he (Maguire) is ready to play,” Ten Hag stated. Rashford? Definitely [fit]. There were no issues; Harry did perfectly in the game.

“He had an excellent game. Rashy took a little hit and missed one game, but he is back.”
