Mason Greenwood supported Man Utd’s “second chance” following the approval of the return decision.

Before Sir Jim Ratcliffe joins the team, Manchester United is planning significant changes.

Mason Greenwood has been pushed by many to give Manchester United another chance the following season after he finishes his year-long loan at Getafe. Despite the club’s abrupt turnaround in the summer, former Red Devils winger Ian Storey-Moore has backed Greenwood to return to Old Trafford for a second career.

The 22-year-old forward was accused of attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behavior, all of which he has repeatedly denied. In February, the Crown Prosecution Service withdrew these allegations against him.

After a six-month internal investigation regarding his arrest in 2022, Richard Arnold, the chief executive of United, reportedly told employees that Greenwood will be reintegrated. This was published by The Athletic.

Manager Erik ten Hag and football director John Murtough allegedly agreed with the position. Yet it’s said that a last-minute U-turn was brought about by staff members threatening to go on strike and outside criticism.

As a result, Greenwood will still have one year remaining on his United deal when he signs a loan with La Liga team Getafe until next summer.

After making his professional breakthrough in 2019, the former United No. 11 is loving life in Spain and is slowly finding his scoring touch again, which made him one of Europe’s most intriguing young attackers.

It is said that United’s position has not changed. After his loan at Getafe expires and beyond, they don’t anticipate seeing Greenwood play for the team again.

But Storey-Moore thinks he should stay at Old Trafford for the upcoming campaign in order to provide much-needed firepower to Ten Hag’s offensive unit, which isn’t working well.

“Everyone is deserving of another chance. Storey-Moore told Express Sport, “He’s kind of served his time, so to speak, and they should probably let him back in next season.”

He’s useful, isn’t he? At his finest, I firmly believe he is superior to what they have.

The sole Premier League goal this season by a forward for United is still Marcus Rashford’s strike in a 3-1 loss at Arsenal in September.

In their 12 league games this season, Ten Hag’s club has managed just 13 goals, a pitiful total that only six other teams have failed to match.

After signing a £72 million summer contract, Rasmus Hojlund became United’s most expensive striker ever. However, he has yet to score in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old Danish striker has scored five goals in four Champions League group matches, but he hasn’t been able to sustain his form at home.

Jadon Sancho is still in exile after practically labeling Ten Hag a liar on social media earlier in the season, Rashford is acting strangely, and Antony is still lacking in charisma.

Greenwood would undoubtedly increase the Dutchman’s opportunities for attack. However, if United tried to approve his return the next year, the incoming INEOS government would encounter the same opposition from both the inside and the outside.
