More transfer rumors and Manchester United will “consider” offers for Raphael Varane

Raphael Varane, a center back for Man United, is rumored to be considering a high-profile move to Saudi Arabia.

Before the January transfer window opens, Manchester United will ‘examine’ bids for Raphael Varane, a center back.

CaughtOffside claims in a report that United will ‘explore the right bids’ for the Frenchman. There are rumors that he may be joining the Saudi Pro League.

Al Ahli, Al Hilal, Al Nassr, and Al Ittihad are among the Saudi teams allegedly keeping an eye on the French defender, who is ‘attracting interest’. Over the last twelve months or so, the aforementioned quartet have signed a number of high-profile players.

who joined United from Real Madrid in August 2021, has featured in just 10 of United’s opening 16 matches this season, frequently being sidelined through either illness or injury. He has not started any of the Reds’ last three matches, last appearing as a starter against FC Copenhagen over a fortnight ago.

Injuries have dictated much of Varane’s time at Old Trafford, restricting him to 73 appearances in just over two years. When fully fit and at the peak of his powers, he is still the club’s best defender.

Varane, who turns 31 in April, may be past his prime, therefore United would be prudent to consider trading him at some point in the near future. The former Real Madrid star has a deal with Old Trafford that runs through June 2025.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, has “set” a €50 million (£43 million) asking price for right-back Denzel Dumfries. This is based on an article from La Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian journal, which Calciomercato quoted.

Since Erik ten Hag became manager of United last year, Dumfries, 27, has been frequently linked to a move to the team. The Dutchman has become one of Europe’s most sought-after right-backs after making an impact for both club and country in recent years.

To stave off rumored suitors, Inter has valued Dumfries at £43 million. Although his contract at the San Siro is set to expire in June 2025, the Italian powerhouses are reportedly eager to keep him around.
