The Brazilian who has always wanted a move to Barcelona is expected to join the La Liga club after an improved offer was submitted to Leeds United. According to reports from the Daily Mail, Barcelona paid £63 million for the player which matches the expectations of Leeds’s valuation of £55 million, plus £8 million in add-ons.
Barcelona have confirmed they have agreed a deal with Leeds to sign Raphinha, with the Brazil international set to complete his Nou Camp move once he has passed a medical. A club statement confirmed the news on Wednesday, while it is believed a fee in the region of £56m convinced Leeds to part ways with their star man.
The deal will be a big blow for Chelsea supporters who were looking forward to seeing the Brazilian at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are looking at Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling as a replacement for the quest to sign Raphinha.
