Newcastle United transfer target Tyler Dibling has joined Chelsea, the teenager has announced via social media.
The Magpies have been big admirers of the 16-year-old since he hit a hat-trick for Southampton under-23s side at St James’ Park in April.
Dibling, an attacking midfielder, has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs but it is the Blues who have won the race.
According to reports from Chelsea News, it was confirmed that Southampton youngster, Tyler Dibling joined the club for a transfer fee of £5m. Tyler Dibling will now be aiming to complete his medicals next week, after signing all necessary documents in England.
According to i News, Newcastle wanted to sign the teenager from Southampton, with the Chronicle adding that he is very highly rated on Tyneside.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dibling is leaving Southampton and set to join Chelsea. He states that a ‘full agreement’ is in place, with the move ‘set to be completed’.
Thomas Tuchel’s side will reportedly pay £1.5million for Dibling, which is a lot of money for someone who isn’t legally allowed to drink alcohol yet.
