Paul Scholes attributes Wednesday night’s 3-3 result against Galatasaray on Bruno Fernandes’ two careless fouls.

After Man United’s captain ‘gave two silly fouls away that contributed to goals’ during their 3-3 draw against Galatasaray, Paul Scholes responded to Bruno Fernandes’ post-match criticism of his team, ordering him to ‘take responsibility’.

It happened after the Portuguese midfielder told his teammates in his post-match interview that his team’s performance was “not enough” and used strong language.

In the game on Wednesday night, the Turkish team overcame a two-goal deficit. United needed to win to maintain their hopes of moving on to the next round.

After Alejandro Garnacho and Fernandes scored two goals early in the first half, it appeared as though they may do that. However, United let up a two-goal lead when Fernandes gave up a free kick on the edge of the Untied penalty area, allowing Ziyech to equalize just before halftime.

Fernandes said to TNT Sports following the game, “It was another game where we could have closed the game.”
