Paul Scholes claims that one defender for Manchester United “cost” his team the match against Copenhagen.

Paul Scholes, a legend of Manchester United, blames Diogo Dalot responsible for his team’s defeat by FC Copenhagen.

Paul Scholes, a veteran of Manchester United, accused Diogo Dalot of making a critical mistake that allowed FC Copenhagen to win in the end. United is currently in danger of being eliminated after losing 4-3 to Copenhagen in their away Champions League Group A match.

Before the game had been played for thirty minutes, Rasmus Hojlund gave the Red Devils a comfortable lead with two goals. After Marcus Rashford fouled Elias Jerelt and was shown a red card, the game took a dramatic turn.

Copenhagen scored two goals prior to halftime, making the most of their one-man advantage. Bruno Fernandes’ penalty in the 69th minute gave United another advantage as they got off to a strong start in the second half.

Diogo Dalot, a fullback for Manchester United, committed a crucial mistake late in the match against FC Copenhagen.

Lukas Lerager took advantage of Diogo Dalot’s distraction in the 83rd minute to level the score and reverse the momentum. The Portugal international failed to stop Lerager’s breakaway run following Rasmus Falk’s curling cross.

that the 10-men United lost their hard-earned lead against Copenhagen due to Dalot’s distraction. Says he:

United is fourth in Group A of the Champions League after losing nine of its 17 games throughout all competitions. One of the main problems for manager Erik ten Hag at United has been the defense.

Ten Hag made the Red Devils’ defense a first priority and had a great first season with the team. In the previous Premier League season, United maintained the most clean sheets. But through the first 17 games of the season across all competitions, United has given up 30 goals.

Dalot has been a regular starter for United as other experienced full-backs have missed time with injuries. The ability of the Portugal international to play at a prestigious club like United has been questioned by many detractors.

It will be difficult for the Red Devils to go to the Champions League knockout round. In their last two group games, United will host Bayern Munich and travel to face Galatasaray.
