Player for Manchester United Bruno Fernandes discloses a message he got from Solskjaer this week.

After Fernandes’ Sunday goal for Portugal, former Manchester United manager Solskjaer made sure to give him a message.

After Portugal’s most recent victory in an international match, Age Hareide, the manager of Iceland, forwarded a message to Bruno Fernandes from former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In their 2-0 victory over Iceland in the Euro 2024 qualifying round on Sunday, Fernandes netted his 18th goal for his nation. Portugal won all ten of their group games to secure their spot in Germany for the following summer, and the United captain led the team with six goals and seven assists.

Although Iceland was not able to directly qualify, they will probably be able to enter the tournament through the play-offs. After the final whistle, manager Hareide made sure to go up to Fernandes and give him a message from Solskjaer.

Under Hareide’s leadership at his home club Molde, Solskjaer participated in 46 games. In his one season at the team before joining United, Solskjaer scored 34 goals.

It’s obvious that he made sure to get in touch with Hareide and ask him to give Fernandes some kind words. The United player claimed to Record, “The Icelandic coach says he spoke to Solskjaer, who had sent me an embrace,” in response to what the Icelandic manager had told him.

Solskjaer welcomed Fernandes to United in January 2020, therefore he was thrilled to score in Lisbon even though Portugal had already qualified for the Euros before the game started. “Everyone wants to score,” he continued. Everyone wants to matter and help.

“I dislike having personal conversations about myself. I don’t focus on it. I enjoy scoring and providing assists. It indicates my assistance. I have a duty to support my teammates. We have excellent talent up front, which makes it simpler to provide assists.

Under Solskjaer’s leadership, Fernandes played in 97 games and recorded 44 goals and 35 assists.
