Prior to Copenhagen, Manchester United’s training team confirms Marcus Rashford’s boost.
Tuesday morning, Marcus Rashford trained with the Manchester United team in preparation for their pivotal Champions League trip to Copenhagen.
The 26-year-old took a serious knock during United’s last practise before hosting Fulham this weekend, and he was ruled out of the game after failing a last-minute fitness test on matchday.
Although it is unclear if Rashford will be able to play in Wednesday night’s crucial match in Denmark, the early signs point to a positive outcome as he was observed having a light workout with his teammates.
Ten Hag stated of the England international following the victory at Craven Cottage: “Yes, he had some complaints after training.” He traveled with us, but today we heard complaints about how difficult it was for him to start and how risky it would be to start him and lose him over additional games and weeks. We had a lot more crucial games to play, therefore we decided against taking the chance.”
After missing the victory over Fulham due to illness, Victor Lindelof trained among the main group as well, while highly-regarded rookie Kobbie Mainoo was not observed.
United’s Copenhagen training squad:
Goalies: Heaton, Onana, and Bayindir.
Maguire, Evans, Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, and Reguilon are the defenders.
McTominay, Van de Beek, Amrabat, Mount, Hannibal, Fernandes, Eriksen, and others are midfielders.
Rashford, Antony, Hojlund, Martial, Forson, Garnacho, and Pellistri are the forwards.
Long-term injury concerns still surround Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez, but Luke Shaw appears to be speeding up his own recuperation from injury.
