Raphael Varane nearly broke a Premier League record by upsetting Virgil van Dijk, a standout for Liverpool.

With the numbers to support it, Raphael Varane was a pillar of strength in the middle of the Manchester United defense.

Liverpool was greatly irritated by United’s 0-0 draw at Anfield, much to their dismay.

Varane kept a clean sheet on Sunday by utilizing all of his experience.

By claiming that just one team attempted to score all three points, Virgil van Dijk made fun of the Red Devils.

“If you see how we played the game, we had most of the ball and created some opportunities,” he stated to Sky Sports. “There was only one team trying to win the game.”

Of Liverpool’s 34 attempts on goal against Andre Onana, only eight found the back of the net.

That was mostly because of the incredibly strong performances of Varane and Jonny Evans, who together are 75 years old, at center back.

That was a defensive masterclass from the seasoned duo, and it could only have made Van Dijk and company more irate.

Varane accomplished 15 clearances, prevailed in all four aerial duels, threw three interceptions, and blocked two. With seventeen, only Ethan Pinnock has cleared more ground in the Premier League this year.

In the past eight Premier League seasons, Chris Smalling is the only Manchester United player to have made more clearances in a match than Raphael Varane did against Liverpool (15). Against Leicester in 2017, he scored 19.

“I informed you. When asked if it demonstrated his team’s unity, United manager Erik ten Hag responded, “You have to fight always for the badge.”

Varane was unflappable in the Liverpool match.

Varane cleared fifteen balls against Liverpool.

We had a clean sheet, and you saw Liverpool’s home record. This was a really strong performance. We had a few excellent opportunities in the second half; you can take the points from there, but we are happy with the team’s performance.

We nearly perfected our defense of it. present was always a teammate present to help us fix our mistakes. That, in my opinion, is today’s major victory; we must maintain and bring this to every game.

“You must always stand up for one another. The mantra at Manchester United is always the same: we oppose everyone else.
