Rasmus Hojlund, a striker for Manchester United, tweets about his lack of goals in the Premier League.

Rasmus Hojlund lead Erik ten Hag’s team’s assault this season after joining Man United in the summer from Atalanta.

Rasmus Hojlund believes that his first Premier League goal for Manchester United will come soon.

Due to a back ailment, Hojlund had to wait to make his United debut after joining from Atalanta. Nevertheless, he has since made 14 appearances while wearing the red shirt, scoring five goals in the Champions League.

However, the striker hasn’t found the back of the goal in the Premier League despite having no trouble doing so in Europe.

In an interview with Sky Sports this week, Hojlund talked about his goal drought—he hasn’t scored in eight league games—and promised to strike when the opportunities present themselves.

The striker added that he felt a little “cheated” because VAR disallowed his goal in the September 3-1 loss to Brighton.

“I still feel a little bit cheated of my goal against Brighton [which was disallowed by VAR] because I watched the Newcastle game [against Arsenal] where it was more or less the same,” Hojlund stated.

“I’m waiting because I know it will arrive, and maybe it will be wonderful. I’m just trying to concentrate on my game and score goals; I don’t feel like I’m under as much pressure as I have in the Champions League. I haven’t really had the same opportunities in the Premier League.

“I know when I get the chances in the league, they’re going to be hopefully in the back of the net.”

“I think we’ve been not so lucky this season. Of course, it’s also down to the quality, but we need to improve and we know that,” Hojlund responded when questioned about the team’s dismal start to the season.

We’re going to put in a lot of effort and return to the top, where we belong. In the Champions League, the cups, and the Premier League, every match matters because we want to compete in all of them and win all we can. Therefore, three points [against Luton] is obviously very important.”

“I was asked this question the other day and he’s very focused on the details and yeah, I think he’s an excellent coach,” Hojlund continued of his collaboration with Ten Hag.

“I enjoy working with him, and I believe he has really increased my self-assurance and belief. I’ve only had good experiences with him thus far.”
