Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen of Manchester United leave the Denmark team when an injury update is given.

Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund of Manchester United were forced to withdraw from the Denmark team due to injuries they sustained against Luton.

Victor Lindelof’s goal in the second half gave the Red Devils a 1-0 victory over Luton on the weekend, making it four wins in their previous five Premier League games.

But the sight of Eriksen and Hojlund hobbling off the field tainted the outcome. Since then, the two have withdrawn from their nation’s Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Northern Ireland and Slovenia.

On Twitter, the Danish national team verified the information, announcing that Jesper Lindstrøm and Jens Stryger Larsen of Napoli had been chosen to take their places.

Manager Kasper Hjulmand will especially miss Hojlund, who has scored seven goals so far in Denmark’s Euro qualification campaign, tied for third most with England’s Harry Kane.

He ended a drought of six games without a goal against FC Copenhagen, however, as they lost 4-3 in their Champions League match. He scored twice.

Following the Luton match, Ten Hag gave reporters an update on the 20-year-old, saying, “At this time, I can’t say anything about it because we don’t know.”

“We conduct an assessment, but the results won’t be known for 24 hours, if there is a problem at all.”

Ten Hag also provided an update on Eriksen, stating that, contrary to what was first believed, he had slid and would need to be evaluated similarly to his international colleague.

Ten Hag retorted, “No, he slipped, but it’s the same.” “We must perform an evaluation, a diagnosis, and a conclusion.”

As United gets ready to meet Everton in the Premier League on November 26, the manager of the team will be hoping that both players will be fully recovered in time.
