Scholes advises Ten Hag to start the Manchester United star in games because he smells danger.

The legendary Paul Scholes of Manchester United has pushed Erik ten Hag, the team’s manager, to start rookie Kobbie Mainoo more often in the Red Devils’ next games.

Scholes insists that Mainoo senses danger and feels he might be the key to giving United more stability.

Remember that following a brilliant performance against Everton the previous Saturday, Mainoo was benched in favor of the more seasoned Sofyan Amrabat against Galatasaray?

Scholes, though, thinks the 18-year-old midfielder should be given the opportunity to start because he has the answer to resolving Man United’s defensive problems.

Scholes stated on TNT Sports, “It makes sense to bring in players around [the center-backs] so they stop getting exposed as they are doing.”

“I believe that [Kobbie] Mainoo has the potential to be a huge asset to this squad, but he needs more games.

“He appears to be a player who can defend his back four, but he also has the ability to grab the ball, receive it, and launch attacks—all skills that are crucial.

“I believe this young man senses danger, and based on our comments at Everton on Sunday, I believe it’s time to give him a chance.”
