Manchester United
Ten Hag’s blacklist of Man Utd offered UCL a path out of the terrible period.
Donny van de Beek may finally end his terrible time at Manchester United if Galatasaray is willing to compete for his services.
Up until now, Van de Beek’s tenure at United has been a complete waste of 2.5 years. Even though he had so much potential at Ajax, the Premier League has wrecked it.
Only he may know if that’s because the pressure is too much for him or if he’s just not up to the level.
He would have anticipated to start well, though, having contributed eight goals and six assists in 26 Eredivisie games the season before his transfer to Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, Van van Beek has made 62 appearances for United and has twice assisted and scored goals.
There have also been very few of those appearances. The Dutchman was loaned out to Everton in January after playing 19 league games during his debut season at United. The following year, he received very little playing time.
After returning to the team last season, he featured in just seven Premier League games for United, clocking in 163 minutes. This season, he has participated in just two minutes.
It appears that no one will trust him enough to give him any meaningful minutes at United if former Ajax manager Ten Hag isn’t one of them.
Van van Beek suggested a way out for Galatasaray.
During his terrible tenure at United, he has been connected to several teams.
There are two possible paths that have been mentioned recently: a return to Ajax and a switch to Villarreal. Whether any of those are fruitful is still to be seen.
But a Champions League team is also keeping an eye on Van de Beek.
Galatasaray is reportedly “one of the new candidates” to sign him for the January window, according to Fichajes. That comes after midfielder Fabrizio Romano said the player will “for sure” depart during the winter transfer window.
Galatasaray is reportedly going to “give him the chance to revitalize his career” and “compete” against teams like Inter Milan and Real Sociedad, according to the article.
PL players find Galatasaray to be an attractive route.
Van de Beek might find the Turkish side to be a compelling alternative.
In fact, they have provided refuge to several players who have recently left the Premier League. Davinson Sanchez, Angelino, Lucas Torreira, Wilfried Zaha, Hakim Ziyech, and Tanguy Ndombele are among the people on their books.
Having said that, Van de Beek might believe that the club is the best location for him to restart his career.
He would also be able to play Champions League football, given Galatasaray is now competing in that league and is ahead of United in the same group. That’s definitely not a bad alternative.
