The competition for Manchester United’s and Liverpool’s hot striker Jonas Wind

Jonas Wind, a striker for the Bundesliga, is currently in form, and Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing him.

The Danish international’s 2023–2024 campaign gets off to a scorching start. In 13 games thus far, the Wolfsburg striker has two assists and nine goals.

The form of Manchester United’s strikers, who have an appalling record of just one Premier League goal between them this season, is in sharp contrast to this. In addition, the entire squad has suffered, since United has only scored goals in 13 of its 12 league games.

As a result, it would appear that the Red Devils are keen to add more options to help young player Rasmus Hojlund. With five goals, the former Copenhagen player is currently tied for the lead in the Champions League after an incredible performance. But he hasn’t scored a goal in the Premier League yet.

Fichajes has now proposed that Jonas Wind, a fellow Dane who played for the Danish national team and was also a player for Copenhagen, might be considered as a solution for the team’s goal-scoring problems.

Although Wind hasn’t previously been connected to United in a meaningful way, there have been long-standing rumors that the team is searching for a striker. Victor Osimhen’s name keeps coming up, and according to a recent report from The Peoples Person, Manchester United would be willing to pay a premium for the Nigerian forward.

According to Fichajes, there are several strikers in form right now in Germany, including Serhou Guirassy, Victor Boniface, and Harry Kane. Although Guirassy’s resume is unlikely to allow him to succeed at a team like United, both Boniface and Guirassy have been strongly linked to moves to England.

The 24-year-old Dane is obviously on the rise, according to the Spanish publication, so it makes sense that the English powerhouses Man United and Liverpool are interested in signing him.

Fans of United will be concerned by Liverpool’s interest in the player because the Anfield team often moves far more quickly during the transfer window than a Red Devils team that is constrained by the Glazers’ incredibly slow decision-making process.

Darwin Nunez is another striker that Liverpool recently outbid Man United to sign in 2022. The Uruguayan striker was strongly linked to Old Trafford for several weeks before to his move to Merseyside.

Supporters of the red side of Manchester will be hoping that either something has finally shifted in the corridors of power at United, or Liverpool is not really keen in the Dane.

Throughout this campaign, Wind’s stature has undoubtedly increased. This season, the striker has 13 goals in all competitions. According to transfermarkt.com, he also scored 27 goals in 55 Danish Superliga games for Copenhagen before moving to Germany in 2022.

Since making his debut for the Danish national team in October 2020, the 24-year-old has also scored seven goals in 21 games for them. The forward has also received praise from Sofascore for his outstanding average season rating of 7.46.

It’s obvious that Manchester United needs goals, and they need them fast. If the team can outbid Liverpool for the Danish player’s signature, it could be a decent first step toward resolving this specific goalkeeping issue.
