Manchester United

The misery for Man Utd is almost over, as Jadon Sancho became the top target for one location in January.

According to a source, Jadon Sancho, a Manchester United outcast, has reportedly elevated to a top target in the Saudi Pro League ahead of the January transfer season.

Sancho, who was given a harsh punishment by Erik ten Hag, is urgently trying to find a way out of Manchester United. A quarrel over remarks that Sancho and the other player made about each other led to the manager entirely freezing Sancho out of the first team.

Ten Hag won’t take Sancho into consideration for selection unless he apologizes for his version of events. Consequently, Sancho will need to join a new team in January if he is to add to his three appearances this season.

Where he could go next is the only question. Luckily for Sancho, it seems like there is still a market for him.

In fact, Sancho is currently listed as one of the Saudi Pro League’s top targets for January according to the Daily Telegraph.

In 2023, Saudi Arabia made a name for itself in the market for elite athletes, attracting stars such as Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Middle East.

It appears that the Saudi Pro League will carry on in a same manner in 2024, and Sancho’s arrival in January should give things a boost.

Although Mohamed Salah of Liverpool is still the dream player for Saudi Arabia, any attempt to buy him in January is likely to encounter the same opposition from the Reds as did in September.

Sancho is reportedly one of the more practical options that Saudi Pro League executives are identifying for the winter window.

After his dispute with Ten Hag in September, the 23-year-old did have the opportunity to travel to Saudi Arabia, but he decided against it at the moment.

Therefore, if he was to consider accepting a Saudi approach during the upcoming transfer window, he would have to make a U-turn. However, when his alternatives become more limited, he may need to give it more thought.

The fact that he is not only desired there, but also above practically all other names, might serve as a self-reminder of his value.

Which team will Sancho join next?

Which Saudi club Sancho could be placed at is still unknown. In the most recent transfer window, Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq had him specifically in mind.

Sancho might also still have chances to play football in Europe. There have been rumors of a return to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, and TEAMtalk stated last month that Juventus was negotiating a contract to bring him to Serie A.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano recently said that Sancho may be best served by moving to Germany or Italy, although he did not name any particular suitors.

Sancho made a strong impression on the team during his prior stint with Dortmund, scoring 50 goals in 137 games.

With just 12 goals in 82 games for Man Utd, his form has never quite reached that height, and given the current situation, it seems unlikely that he will score any more.

Sancho has a contract with Manchester United that expires in 2026, but it is likely that he will leave much before.
