The player Bruno Fernandes says Manchester United “would love” to sign

While on international duty, the Man United captain acknowledged that he would love for the Reds to sign a colleague from Portugal.

Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, has acknowledged that he would love to see João Neves join the Reds.

A transfer to Old Trafford has been suggested for Neves in recent weeks due to United’s midfield difficulties. This summer, Erik ten Hag was eager to rotate his midfield and lower the average age of his middle-of-the-field alternatives.

Mason Mount, 24, was brought in from Chelsea, and Sofyan Amrabat made an initial loan move to the team on deadline day. Nevertheless, Ten Hag is already being connected to other acquisitions in the engine room, and the midfield reinforcements have not yet left their stamp on the team.

Neves is among those who have been connected to a switch to M16, and Fernandes has now approved of any potential move. When Sport TV questioned the Portugal international about the rumors, he said, “I would love to have him at United, he has top quality!” That’s João’s decision, though. He is a fantastic player, but everything relies on the manager’s vision! He’ll have a bright future, whether it’s with United or not.”

In September, MEN Sport disclosed that United planned to pursue major acquisitions in four domains for the upcoming summer season. One of those is midfield, where Ten Hag is anticipated to try to increase his alternatives once more.

By the time the 2023–24 season ends, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will both be 32 years old. Ten Hag might very well try to recruit a young midfield player once more, and Neves, who is 19 years old, would undoubtedly be a good fit.
