Manchester United
When Man United plays again following the international break, three first-team players will be back: An enormous lift?
Despite Man United’s ongoing injury problems, Erik ten Hag anticipates having a number of key players return to action soon after the international break.
Ten Hag has sustained the joint-highest number of injuries this season among all Premier League teams with 14, and 11 players are now out with various ailments.
Long-term absences for Man United include players like Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, and Jonny Evans; nonetheless, the manager of the team is grateful for the international break as it should allow some of the injured players to return to action.
Luke Shaw has been out of the game for a few months, but he has now resumed training, which is great news for ETH. The England international Shaw is expected to return after the break, therefore he might be included in the matchday squad when they play Everton the following weekend.
Shaw’s comeback will be a huge benefit for the Man United manager because he can play left center back now that Martinez and Evans are sidelined due to injuries. Luke Shaw can play center back for United, allowing them to play out of the back once more. The position is not unfamiliar to full backs.
Additionally, Amad Diallo has resumed private training and is expected to play against Everton. Although it is unlikely that the young player will start, Antony will have some competition in the right winger position.
Due to illness, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was unable to play against Luton; he will make a return on Sunday.
Fortunately, Rasmus Hojlund’s thigh strain is not serious, and he has taken time off to heal. Though there are concerns regarding the Everton match, he will undoubtedly return for Man United’s Champions League match against Galatasaray.
With Garnacho and Antony as the two wingers, Rashford will be the one leading the line for the trip to Goodison Park.
During the international break, Man United’s injury casualty was Andre Onana, who took a knock while playing for Cameroon against Mauritius. Although the full degree of his pelvic injury is unknown, he is reportedly doubtful for United’s upcoming league match.
Altay Bayindir, the summer acquisition, will start in goal if the keeper is unavailable.
Man United’s situation is still not ideal overall, but at least Erik ten Hag won’t have to make as many substitutions and tweaks if important players like Hojlund and Luke Shaw return.
