With Rasmus Hojlund’s injury, Anthony Martial has one final chance to rescue his Manchester United career.
After Rasmus Hojlund was hurt against Luton Town last month, Anthony Martial has one final chance to rescue his Manchester United future.
The injury occurred in the second half of United’s 1-0 victory over Luton, but the team hopes to have Hojlund back before the end of November.
It’s doubtful if he’ll be ready for the Everton trip. Given his upcoming busy schedule, we believe manager Erik ten Hag should exercise caution while dealing with him.
Martial, who is approaching a pivotal point in his United career, may have an opportunity as a result.
Despite playing just 980 minutes in the league last season, Martial contributed to eight goals. His ailments kept him out of 29 games across all competitions.
This cleared the ground for last summer’s massive investment in Hojlund. Since his debut, the Dane has been all but a sure starter.
Since the international break in September, Martial has only made one start in the Carabao Cup. United was eliminated from the competition in the fourth round.
Because of this, the forward’s playing time has been significantly cut down, and we believe he is in a battle against time to keep his Red Devils career alive.
The present contract of Anthony Martial expires at the end of the current campaign, and United’s management has chosen not to activate a one-year extension at this time.
Prior to the New Year, there have been rumors of interest from Saudi Arabia. The £36 million signing will need to improve his play to regain the manager’s trust.
The Frenchman’s favorite team is Everton. In 16 encounters across all competitions, he has eight goals and four assists versus the Merseyside team.
On Sunday, Martial might have the chance to add to his record of contributions. There may be more chatter about him departing in January if he starts and doesn’t make an impression.
United may look into adding a temporary player to cover for Hojlund during the upcoming winter.
